GENERAL LINE EQUATION

Let a, b and c be real numbers and a and b not equal to zero at the same time, then general equation of the line is ax+by+c=0.
Since the point P is on the line, the coordinates when substituted in the line equation will satisfiy.

GRAPHS OF LINES y=mx AND y=mx+n

The lines y=mx and y=mx+n are parallel to each other. For the line equation y=mx+n, the coefficient m of x is always the slope of the line and constant term n is the y-intercept of the line.
